Welcome to Pocatello Golf Courses!

Pocatello, affectionately known as the Gate City, is home to a pair of municipal courses that cater to players of all skill levels and abilities.  These mature layouts boast a wide variety of mature tree species, bluegrass fairways, bent grass greens, and bunkers with white sand harvested right here in Idaho!  Both courses feature driving ranges, practice greens, and cafes inside the clubhouse. 

Riverside is the older of the two layouts and is located in the valley in Pocatello's southern boundaries.  Uniquely located next to the Portneuf River with altitudinous trees, tame terrain, and easy transitions from green to tee, Riverside is a favorite among golfers the prefer to walk while playing.  The layout yields several birdie opportunities with some short par 4s and reachable par 5s, but putting a good score on the card will require accuracy and distance control to master the greens that deliver a formidable defense to the course.

Perched on the northeast bench of Pocatello next to the high school that shares its name, Highland is longer and much hillier than Riverside.  The course boasts views of the surrounding mountains, enjoy mature trees that shape holes, and you can even catch a glipse of a football game during the fall.  The routing brings players back to the center of the property multiple times throughout the round and is great for viewing tournaments.  In fact, Highland has hosted the High School State Championship multiple times over the years and is a popular venue for it.  A good score at Highland is all about learning the greens, playing more break than you see, and realizing that all putts slope down the hillside towards town. - Billy Satterfield
